Program Notes: TAVERN MUSIC is meant to emulate the sounds of a session in a local pub, with friends and their ﬁddles surrounding a table, sharing a pint. The four movements form a narrative of gathering with friends, recalling sacriﬁce, mourning those who were lost, and celebrating those who returned.
