Darwin’s Theory for Bass Clarinet (2004)
Darwin’s Theory for Bass Clarinet is a piece based on the evolution of a simple idea into a more complicated, and relatively unrecognizable one. By retaining pieces of melodic content, while also mutating rhythmic patterns, the simple idea becomes an almost entirely new one. Clarinetist Joseph O’Kelly performed the world premiere of this piece during the 2005 Wayne Composers Concert.
